you've got the music in you

Things seem bad. Not with me in paticular, but I see a lot ov very unhappy diary entries. Everyone seems upset or pissed right now. Dark times is comin'. You listen to the tabacco man- you'll see. You'll see. Daaaark times is comin'.
Yeah- I haven't had enough sleep. That's o.k.. I feel fine. I got the brand new Ministry single 'Piss'. It's not very good (at least these 3 songs- hopefully the full length will be better), way too much like the last one ('Dark Side of the Spoon'), which I didn't care much for. The few good songs were awesome, but mostly it was pretty boring. I was in the minority loveing 'Filthpig'- that's a great cd (that no one else seemed to like much). I wish they'd go back to that sound. I know, I know- 'The Land of Rape and Honey' and 'Psalm 69' are classics (and 'A Mind is a Terrible Thing to Taste' and 'Twitch' are both awesome, too- we'll pretend 'With Sympathy' doesn't exist), but 'Filthpig' is still my fav.
I went and saw 'Shanghai Knights' Sunday (it wasn't my choice). Even expecting it to be bad, it was still worse than I expected. I thought it would have some funny parts, but no- the humor was all ov the 'we've seen this a thousand times before' variety. I'm surprised someone didn't say "Hey- all these jokes were done on old Scooby Doo episodes back in the sixties!!". I'm not exaggerating! They even do that old one where two people are in a room, and one notices that a painting has real eyes staring through holes where the eyes should be, and by the time he points it out to the other guy, the person behind the painting has put the painted eyes back up, and the other person doesn't believe the first one. This happens not once but twice!! The whole movie is full ov these recycled- a- thousand- times jokes, and it's bad. Jackie Chan's kung fu is looking very ragged. The grabbing oddball things in the area and using them to fight with thing has gotten stale, and in this movie looks more like dancing than fighting. Avoid it (I haven't seen the first, so I can't compare it, but it HAS to be better than this!).
I went and ate at an old Denny's I used to go to a lot a long time ago this morning. It's funny, I used to go there with my old girlfriend, and we always had this certain waitress we liked- this grumpy older black chic. She was funny. Well, she's still there, and was my waitress this morning. She has a good memory- remembered what I drank, asked about my ex- girlfriend and her sister. That was cool. Good old nostalgia.
Speaking ov, my buddy Mike is coming back to work with us at my job. He used to work for me when I was a manager. Him and me and this other guy Brian used to play this game where we'd try to get really bad songs stuck in each other's heads. A lot ov 80's stuff like Duran Duran, Howard Jones, Corey Hart, etc., but also some horrible newer stuff like Tal Bachman- 'She's So High', Eagle Eye Cherry- 'Save Tonight', Sixpence None The Richer- 'There She Blows' (err- I mean 'Goes'). One ov those bastards got Eve 6- 'Inside Out' stuck in my head for over 24 hours! (That's o.k., I still hold the record for getting The Smiths- 'How Soon is Now?' stuck in Brian's head all weekend!). Things were a lot funner there back then. We also have a new D.M., who appears to be a fucking prick. Matt warned me that he is, but I was going to give him the benefit ov the doubt. So far, he seems to be a cheap ass two faced sack ov shit, but maybe that's just the image he gives off. Only time will tell...
All right- I been up all night, it's nappy time. I write more later.
