6 years (and counting)

It's been six years now (slightly over I guess) since I started doing this diary. I don't post much any more, but I'm never going to delete it, I don't think.
This morning I was awoken by a cat launching herself off my face. I'm not sure which one it was, but I never got back to sleep. Cats- hard to live with them sometimes, but you definitely can't live without them (or at least I can't). Yesterday I was awoken by a phantom itch. It started somewhere on my leg, but every time I thought I found it and would scratch, it moved. This was very frustrating. I think I eventually found it somewhere at the top of my neck.
I wrote a Houston scene report for MaximumRockNRoll magazine. It's supposed to be in issue #303. I haven't written one in ages.
I went and saw The Incredible Hulk tonight, and liked it ba lot better than I thought I would. I never saw Ang Lee's version, because it looked really bad, but this one was pretty good. Not as good as Iron Man or a few of the other top tier super hero movies, but still good. I like how now that Marvel has taken over making their films in-house, the Marvel universe is really coming alive. I was never a big Hulk fan, but I was a Marvel fan, and there were so many nods to other Marvel universe characters and titles, from Iron man to Captain America. there were also quite a few subtle Hulk comic book nods, from The Leader to Doc Samson (and a whole shitload of nods to the old tv show). I've seen a lot of movies lately. I mentioned how good Iron Man was. I really liked Speed Racer, too. I never liked the cartoon, but I liked how they created this incredibly stylish, over the top universe in the movie- it's the closest thing to a live action anime I've ever seen. The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian was a bit diappointing. It was just missing something. It wasn't horrible, but just didn't have 'it'. I kept thinking "I don't remember any of this from the book!" (tho it's been a long time since I've read it). The first one was much better. Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull was also a little disappointing (tho I still liked it). I don't remember the others being quite that... silly. Tho once again I haven't watched them in awhile. I really loved the first one, and liked the others. This one seem just a tad unrealistic- i mean, I knowthey are all unrealistic, but this one seemed to stretch it just a teeny bit too far. Indy never seemed to get hurt, for one thing- he was like a superman. I remember in one of the other ones, he's in a fight and get hits in the kidney, and you can feel it. You can see the look of pain on his face. There really isn't any scenes like that in this one. And there's at least one special effect that looks horrible. But I still enjoyed it. Now there's still a ton of movies coming out I want to see. And movies are just too damn expensive! Next up will be The Happening. I've liked all of Shyamalan's movies to some extent, except Lady In the Water (and I've determined in retrospect that the only reason I didn't enjoy it is because I hadn't huffed any cleaning solvents before I went and saw it, as he obviously did while he was making it).
I've been watching some new tv shows as well- "The IT Crowd" and "The Mighty Boosh". "The IT Crowd" is hilarious- I'd recommend checking it out if you like comedies. "The Mighty boosh" is hit or miss, but still has some brilliance in places and is pretty crazy over all (never boring).
Everything is pretty much going the same as usual. The (not so) new kittys are doing well. Krystal is doing pretty well. She got a job at Michael's. One of my fav new cds is the new Septicflesh (Communion). It's freakin killer. And Alternative Tentacles finally issued Amebix's hopelessly out-of-print first 3 eps on cd (the studio nhad been holding onto the masters all this time for some reason, but finally released them). I've always liked Amebix (tho they are an aquired taste, but great metal punk). I've started podcasting my radio show (you can find it at http://deadthyme.libsyn.com).
Well, it's late and I gotta take Krystal to work early, so I'd best be off...
